Non-PvP Trend continues

Turbine today announced, in a letter to the community, that there will be no Player versus Player combat in the initial release of Dungeons & Dragons Online.

While other technical prowess like DirectX9 Graphics, advanced crafting systems as well as non-instanced housing seems to be standard these days more and more games turn their back on Player versus Player Combat. Famous examples are EverQuest II and Middle-Earth Online, now Turbine also pulled the plug of PvP on Dungeons & Dragons Online.

If you have ever player DND, you might think just like parts of the DDO community do. However, it remains to be seen what "will not be a part of the initial launch" really means, as we keep hearing it quite often lately.
